	Obituary Our beloved, respected artist, art historian Prof. Sovon Som is no more with us. He passed away last night, 8th June 2010 after a short period of suffering from heart attack. We, all concern of our college express deep mourning on his untimely demise. He was a formar member of our Governing Body. Long Live Pro. Sovon Som. We believe he will remain with us for years for his contribution on Art and Literature.


	Admission opens for the session 2010-2011 Admission in BFA four years Integrated Degree course (Hons.) 2010 in Painting, Applied art, Graphics,Sculpture. Prospectus with form for Admission test (Rs. 200/-) Available from 7th June to 21st June 2010 from 12 – 4 pm. at college office. Eligibility: H.S. or equivalent (break of study 2 yrs. Age: 23 years on 30.06.2010 (for SC / ST 25 yrs.). Last date of submission 23.06.2010. Online submission is required send a draft of Rs. 200/- payable at Kolkata in favour of “The Indian College of Arts & Draftsmanship” within 25th June 2010. Principal


	Workshop on Jaipur Fresco Under UGC assistance a work shop on Jaipur Fresco Technique ( Wet Process ) is going on with the students of all section and streem of third year. Dr. S.B.Sinha, Principal is teaching the method as well as coordinator of this program. About 60 - 65 students perticepated in this program. They are creating nice art works with the meaterials used in Indian Heritage Technique, which was originated in the land of Jaipur Reign.


	Remedial Coaching Programme REMEDIAL COACHING PROGRAMME U N D E R U G C F I N A N C I A L A S S I T S A N C E A remedial coaching for the SC/SC, OBC(non creamy layer), Girls, Minority, Otherwise challenge students under UGC financial assistance is going on in this college. The program started on 24^th May 2010. Eminent scholars, Academics as well as Painters have already delivered valuable speeches on various subjects before the students with interactions. As per UGC guideline students from different college have also participated in this program. The program has two parts. First part is based on Theoretical discussions and the second is a workshop. All speakers used PowerPoint device for their lectures. There are 120 students joined in this coaching.
